Sports Premium at Drapers’ Brookside Junior School
Physical development and education are essential to improve the future health of our pupils. From the Early Years Foundation Stage specialist sports skills are taught by a qualified coach and this continues to Year 6. Weekly sports coaching will enable our pupils to enjoy a range of sports activities and improve their fitness and well-being. Sports teams are developed from Year 2 and pupils are able to take part in local sporting activities and competitions. Extra-curricular activities are offered to promote sports skills and develop sports teams. Every pupil is expected to attend at least one extra-curricular sports activity weekly in Key Stage 2.
Our School Meals Policy supports the development of health and well-being and contributes to Physical Education for our pupils. The school timetable and curriculum is organised to ensure that pupils are able to take part in physical exercise by using climbing equipment and accessing the outdoor area daily.
