Admissions

If in September 2024 your child attends year 2 in an infant school, you will need to apply for them to transfer to the junior school.

Drapers’ Brookside Junior School has the agreed admission number of 60 pupils into Year 3.

The official closing date to apply for Drapers’ Brookside Junior School is 15th January 2025.

Joining Drapers' Brookside Junior School from another school (In-Year Transfers)It is the policy of Drapers' Brookside Junior School to provide education for all children regardless of their different abilities and will not select any pupil by ability, aptitude or faith.  

Drapers' Brookside Junior School complies fully with the School Admissions Code of Practice and the School Admission Appeals Code of Practice as these apply to maintained schools.

  • Places will be allocated according to the criteria below:
  • Children with special educational needs.
  • Looked after children and children who were looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted. 
  • Children who have siblings who are attending Drapers’ Brookside Junior School.
  • Pupils’ residing in the schools agreed priority admissions area.
  • Pupils’ living outside the priority admissions area.

Appeals

If parents did not get a place at the school are unhappy about not being offered a place for their child, they may appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel. Parents wishing to appeal for a school can do so online via www.havering.gov.uk/admissions/appeal.

 

In-Year Admissions

The in-year admissions process is for parents who have just moved into Havering and need to apply for a school place at a local school for their child during the school year, or for parents who want to transfer their child from one school to another. The Local Authority will continue to administer and co-ordinate in-year applications for all schools in Havering
